Set the Font Size for All Controls Demo Experiment Run Experiment

Set the Font Size for All Controls

Jaap Murre

If you are using the standard controls like input(), instruction(), select() the standard font size is usually too large. You can make it smaller as follows with one line: main.setfontsize(70) (for 70% sized font size).

You could also use main.style('font-size','70%') and this would achieve the same result but with one important difference. When the window size changes (e.g., on full screen or on turning your phone sideways, etc.). The font size is reset to 100% and redetermined by NeuroTask Scripting. With setfontsize(70), it is reset to 70% as intended. It is, therefore, more reliable.

If you are a registered user and signed in, you can here copy this script and its stimuli to your own account, where you can edit it and change it in any way you want.

It is absolutely free to register (no credit card info asked!). You can then instantly copy this experiment with one click and edit it, change its accompanying texts, its landing page, stimuli, etc. Invite your colleagues, friends, or students to check out your experiment. There is no limit on how many people can do your experiment, even with a free account.

The catch? There is no catch! Just keep in mind that with a free account, you cannot collect data. For teaching that is usually not a problem. For research, prepaid data collection (unlimited subjects) starts as low as €10.00 for a 10-day period.

// If you are using the standard controls like input(), instruction(), select()
// the standard font size is usually too large. You can make it smaller as follows:
main.setfontsize(70); // Set the font size of all controls and text() etc. to 70%
instruction("Now you can write a long instruction and it will not run of the page");
